A delightful, rather small dragonfly with a uniquely trumpet-shaped abdomen. It seemed to prefer rougher habitat rather than the manicured spaces like the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The female is similarly shaped and marked, simply being yellowish in colour rather than blue.
Our trip to Sri Lanka in 2019 netted a single female. Here it is known as the Asian Pintail.
A small relict populaton apparently exists in Algeria and is included in Dijkstra/Lewington, where it is tagged Grizzled Pintail. Confusing things, common names.
