For many years I’ve been using Canon. The APS-C sensor (1.6X crop factor) of the EOS 7D mkII gives “apparent” extra reach for my smaller subjects. It now rarely carries anything but the Canon 100-400 zoom.
In 2019, I added the first of some Olympus M4/3 gear to my kitbag, originally the E-M1 mkII which is much lighter. However, I missed the GPS built into the Canon EOS 7D mkII and invested in the heavier E-M1X which DOES have GPS. My current practice is to use the 300mm f4 prime lens on the E-M1X and keep the very svelte 60mm macro on the E-M1. I would like the Oly macro lens to be longer, though. I do miss an optical viewfinder (as opposed to an EVF – Electronic ViewFinder) but the photographic world has now gone mirrorless so I must learn to live with it.
