Austroargolestes chrysoides (Golden Flatwing) is limited to southeast Queensland where it “inhabits streams, usually in rainforests”. With patches of bright orange on a metallic purple ground, this is a particularly handsome damselfly. I’m not sure one could tire of seeing these.
Once over my initial excitement, I managed to photograph both male and female at Mapleton Falls National Park and at Northbrook Creek. The ovipositing female was at Booloumba Creek.
