Austrolestes leda (Wandering Ringtail) is widespread in the east of Australia, including Victoria, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania.
We found a good colony of them at the smaller of two dams in Stanley, near Beechworth, Victoria. They are a handsome blue damselfly, the shape of the males’ appendages showing a family resemblance to our own Lestes species.
