Stunningly beautiful demoiselles from the Mediterranean, in our case from the Peau de Meau and Maussane-les-Alpilles in Provence. We also found them in Spain early in 2013. Quite unmistakable, certainly in the case of the male.
Id Notes
- ♂ – metallic purple/bronze body
- ♂ – mostly dark brown wings but with a clear patch near the wing root
- ♀ – metallic green/bronze body with very narrow antehumeral stripes
- ♀ – clear wings with white pseudo-pterostigma; hind-wing usually with darker tip
