Diplacodes bipunctata (Wandering Percher/Red Percher)
This species occurs widely within Australasia and Oceania. It has been recorded throughout Australia, inhabits New Zealand where I believe it is limited to the northwestern part of North Island, is in Indonesia and a whole host of other Pacific Islands. At least the binomial name seems to be consistent though the vernacular name does vary.
Our tour of New Zealand missed the areas where this character exists so our only records come from Australia.
