Diplacodes melanopsis (Black-faced Percher) is a modestly sized typical Diplacodes species. As the name implies, in the mature male, the head and the front of the thorax turn black. It ranges over the southeast “corner” of Australia up to and including southeast Queensland.
We met just one individual at the end of our trip back in Brisbane. These three pictures are all of that single male which, I think, is not fully mature, perhaps lacking a little of that black.
