Diplacodes trivialis is a widespread species, occurring from India to China and Japan and southwards to New Guinea and Australia.
We first spotted these characters flitting about and perching on the leaf litter beside the Siem Reap river in Cambodia, 2013. Later on that same trip, we found them in Singapore, too, at the Johor battery and in Bishan Park. We have since found them in Hong Kong Park in 2017 and Australia in 2019 and 2022, where they are referred to in the vernacular as Chalky Percher.
