Sharing some features of the UK’s Ischnura pumilio (Scarce Blue-tailed Damselfly/Small Bluetail), here’s Ischnura verticalis (Eastern Forktail). Quite why the Americans refer to Ischnura species as Forktails I’m not sure, though I. elegans does have outward facing upper appendages.
We found this species at just one location during our late season 2024 visit to Richmond, Va.
