A wide-ranging species, Macrodiplax cora (Wandering Pennant) is found from islands in the Indian Ocean through southern Asia to the western Pacific and America. It is recorded almost all the way around the Australian coast excepting the south and southeast. It is apparently salt-tolerant.
I had a couple of encounters with this species, both around Brisbane and happily saw both male and female.
