A Pinfly, indeed and one of northeast Queensland’s endemics.
I found just one of these on FNQ 2022 and needed a lot of help identifying it. The lower anal appendages of the male looked key and, indeed, they were but “the book” photo is hopeless – a distorted museum specimen with no lower appendages visible. To be fair, the line drawing of the appendages is more useful … if you spot it.
