This one is endemic to south-eastern Australia.
Although I have only a single example, a female, from our very last campsite in 2024 at Heathcote, Victoria, I was very happy to add this striking dragonfly to my collection. I’m not sure where the idea of “royal” comes from – could one of the markings resemble a crown?
