For some time, I had been wanting to visit Turkey which is one place, along with the Canary Islands, that this stunning species can be seen in Europe. My Turkey trip was one of the earlier Covid-19 casualties. I was thrilled, therefore, to stumble across specimens at our hotel in Livingstone, Zambia, during our Botswana safari in 2022. Ambition achieved.
I was surprised how small this species is.
