We saw quite of few of these on our first SE Asian tour and both male and female always seemed to perch with their wings held aloft. We have since seen more females i Sri Lanka. Males seem scarcer, which is unusual. Since they always perch with their wings held aloft the term “Dropwing” is a bit beyond me.
Males and females look very similar so we’re left to study the shape of the abdomen and look closely at the anal appendages to make a determination as to sex.
