Urothemis aliena (Red Baron) is found in New Guinea as well as northern Australia. It has a very triangular dark mark at the hind-wing root and can be confused with other Ozzie red-bodied dragonflies if the angle isn’t right. (There are still some in my catalogue that I’m confused about.)
My suspects were found at the TYTO Wetland in Ingham towards the end of FNQ 2022.
