I fell in love with Zyxomma elgneri (Short-tailed Duskdarter), largely because its genus is alphabetically the very last in the World List. [I know, I’m sad.] It’s also a very attractive little dragonfly and crepuscular to boot so what’s not to like? It has quite a wide range covering most of the north of Australia but also covers New Guinea.
My FNQ 2022 examples are all from the Cattana Wetlands where I was lucky enough to get both male and female.
